About

Articles submitted to AΓION are anonymised and sent to external peer-reviewers. External referees are chosen from internationally-renowned scholars with at least a PhD level qualification in a related subject. Readers will be chosen by the proposal of the Editorial Board and then contacted by the editor-in-chief. At the editors’ discretion, submissions may be internally peer-reviewed by members of the Editorial Board. Book reviews are usually peer-reviewed by them.
Beside a blind (or double blind) peer-review, authors or referees may choose to disclose their names for an open peer-review.
If rejected, papers may be submitted again after revision.
Short, unreviewed texts (such as research reports, oral history, obituaries) may be published as bulletins. In rare—but justifiable—cases, important studies that have been excluded from international scientific discourse because of political or lingual seclusion—and that can not be revised because of the author’s death, or due to their representative, characteristic standing—may be published. The absence of reference to these historically important works must be emphasised accordingly.

One volume is composed of four issues a year, but the first volumes are planned to be published in one (or two), with internal indications of the 1–4 issue, or 1–2 and 3–4 issues.
AΓION will occasionally consider the publication of smaller interrelated groups of papers (e.g. lectures given at conferences), but does not wish to interfere with the normal sequence of publication of received articles.
Access to the content of AΓION is unrestricted on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
AΓION will be published free online in a searchable .pdf file on this website. Any person, or organisation may print the whole issue.
The journal will be printed in a limited number of copies, and sent to leading international and selected Central-European libraries. Authors, editors, members of the Advisory Board will receive honorary copies.
